Jetson Single-Seater eVTOL Called Jetson ONE Will Arrive Soon
In the United States, the single-seater Jetson One vehicle is classified as "ultralight," implying that you do not need a pilot license in order to fly it. You may buy this flying car that does not require a license for the price of a Tesla Model S.
The Jetson ONE personal electric aerial vehicle from the Swedish eVTOL startup has been unveiled. Jetson Aero has launched a consumer version of the eVTOL, ONE, after having successfully completed a prototype in 2018. The company's limited production run for 2022 has already sold out, and it is now taking orders for 2023.
Peter Ternstrom and Tomasz Patan launched this Swedish company in 2017, which specializes in eVTOL aircraft. Over 150 companies are developing their own "flying cars" in the eVTOL technology and commercial aerial transportation sector, but almost all of them are still in the prototype phase.
The price for this little bad boy in the U.S. will run you about $92,000. You'll receive a half-built kit that includes propellers and motors, an aluminum space frame, motor controllers, as well as an assembly manual. This eVTOL weighs only 190 pounds, and the weight load can withstand 210 pounds.
The ONE has an all-aluminum frame with eight powerful electric motors and safety features comprising a ballistic parachute and a redundant propulsion system. An operator uses a throttle lever, a joystick, and pedals to control the aircraft's movements. A Triple redundant flight computer program maintains stability during flight. The eVTOL is also outfitted with lidar sensors for terrain tracking and obstacle avoidance. The ballistic parachute can be deployed in seconds if the engine fails or the battery goes down.
The Jetson offers pure performance and environmental friendliness. The Jetson is manufactured from carbon fiber. The carbon frame of the Jetson provides high resistance and ultra-light material. The eVTOL chassis has been designed to be as slim as possible to better drive and balanced weight distribution. This incredible bodywork is produced in vacuum infusion technology. This process allows for thin wall sections that can't be obtained through traditional manufacturing techniques.
This eVTOL has a 20 minutes airtime that can reach speeds up to 63 miles per hour. However, what Jetson Aero is offering appears more like a toy for amateurs rather than a large multi-seat urban air taxi, which may be construed as a benefit given the company's focus on simplifying regulatory processes. The Jetson offers the perfect combination between environmental friendliness and pure performance. This single-seater eVTOL is an eco-friendly vehicle without compromises, built to provide excellent performances at reasonable prices.
Ultralights are not regarded as planes by the Federal Aviation Administration, classifying them as "vehicles" that do not need to conform to U.S. or foreign airworthiness standards. Ultralights are mainly utilized for leisure. According to FAA rules, these vehicles cannot be flown over a city's congested area (so don't expect it to save you in traffic) or restricted air space such as airports. They're also not permitted in the sky during nighttime hours.
Jetson Aero will only produce 12 Jetson One vehicles in 2022, of which have been sold to buyers in Europe, the U.S., and Brazil. In the production lineup for 2023, 17 will be made, but only three are left to be sold. The company has announced that production of the 2022 Jetson ONE vehicles will begin next summer, with deliveries expected later that fall.
